✨ Welcome to Black Realities Adventures with Akwantuo Ranger Travel!
We’re excited to host you on an unforgettable journey. To make sure your experience is smooth and stress-free, we’ve set clear guidelines about payments, cancellations, responsibilities, and safety. These terms are here to protect both you and us, so everyone can focus on what matters most: enjoying the adventure of a lifetime. Please read carefully before booking.
By booking, reserving, or paying for participation in any trip offered by Black Realities dba Black Realities Adventures (“Black Realities”) and its Ghanaian partner Akwantuo Ranger Travel (“Akwantuo”), collectively referred to as (“Operators”), you ("Traveler") acknowledge that you have read, understood, and voluntarily agreed to all terms and conditions contained in this Traveler Waiver & Release Agreement (‘Agreement”). Your booking, payment, or participation constitutes your full and unconditional acceptance and binding consent of this Agreement, which is binding as if physically signed.
Further, by booking this trip, paying for it, or showing up to join us, you’re confirming you understand that travel, especially to vibrant and dynamic places like Ghana, comes with real-world risks and unpredictable moments. This agreement makes sure we’re all clear on what those are and who’s responsible for what (hint: mostly you).
We draw your attention to the Terms and Conditions of travel below. Before making a booking with us you must ensure that you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions (and asked any questions you may have). Please be aware that these Terms and Conditions contain waivers of liability as well as waiver of class action and venue selection and notice clauses, all of which affect your legal rights. By asking us to confirm your booking you are accepting all the Terms and Conditions laid out below and acknowledging that you have read the terms of this binding contract and agree with them.
All deposits and payments to Black Realities dba Black Realities Adventures (“Black Realities”) and its Ghanaian partner Akwantuo Ranger Travel (“Akwantuo”), collectively referred to as (“Operators”) are non-refundable and non-transferable. This is because Black Realities and Akwantuo have contractual agreements with hotels, partners, and other vendors that will not allow us to obtain any refunds. These contractual agreements, keep our package prices competitive and provides us with the opportunity to offer you ("Traveler") a monthly payment plan for your experience.
We reserve the right to refuse deposit(s) for trip attendee(s) for any reason(s).
You know what you signed up for. You’re choosing to join the Operators in and around the greater Accra area of Ghana. You understand travel involves some risks: changes in plans, illness, injury, or even unexpected delays. You accept these risks as part of the adventure. Traveler understands the description of these risks is not complete and that unknown or unanticipated risks may result in extreme outcomes, including loss of life. To partake of the enjoyment and excitement of the tour, travelers are willing to accept the risks and uncertainty involved as being an integral part of travel, including the risk of infection, illness, and death.
By joining this trip, you release Operators, along with everyone who works with us, from any and all claims, damages, or complaints. That includes anything related to injury, loss (including loss of life), damage, delays, dissatisfaction, bad weather, third-party errors, or any act of God. We pour our hearts into planning an unforgettable journey, but some things are beyond anyone’s control.
If, despite this Agreement, Operators were ever found responsible for any loss, damage, illness, injury or death, the most they could ever be required to pay in any and all circumstances is the total amount Operators received from Traveler for the trip.
Operators do not own, operate, or control the travel services included in your trip: like hotels, meals, activities, tours, transportation, or travel insurance (collectively, the “Travel Products”). These Travel Products are provided by third-party suppliers (“Suppliers”), such as hotels, restaurants, tour guides, or transportation companies. The Suppliers are exclusively responsible for all aspects of the Travel Products.
As the traveler, you acknowledge that the Operators act only as your agent in arranging or booking these Travel Products on your behalf. You agree that the Operators are not responsible for any loss, accident, injury, delay, defect, omission, or other issue that may occur with the Travel Products, whether caused by a Supplier, another traveler, or circumstances beyond anyone’s control. No guarantees are made regarding specific outcomes, experiences, or results of any service.
You confirm you’re in good shape to travel and have handled your vaccines, medications, and health prep. If you have a condition that could affect your participation, it’s your responsibility to manage it and get clearance from your doctor.
We want everyone to have an amazing trip, but much of Ghana isn’t fully accessible. For example, wheelchair ramps, ADA-style accommodations, and extra support are limited and rarely comprehensive enough for people with disabilities to navigate travel experiences independently. If you have a disability or medical condition that might affect your travel, you’re welcome to join us, but you’ll need a travel companion to assist you and they would need to also reserve a spot on the trip. We’ll do our best to communicate any special requests to Suppliers, but you acknowledge that despite our best efforts, some accommodations will not be possible, resulting in your inability to participate in some of the planned excursions and activities.
Meals are as noted in the itinerary and are typically served buffet-style or as set menus. Alcoholic beverages are not included unless stated otherwise. We’ll always communicate your dietary preferences to our partners; however, please know that in Ghana, food is often prepared communally without the kind of separate preparation or ingredient control you might expect elsewhere. A vegetarian meal, for example, may simply mean your serving comes without the meat that is in the pot, not that it was cooked separately.
For this reason, we cannot guarantee accommodation for food allergies or dietary restrictions, and we are not responsible for any reactions or complications that may arise. Travelers with dietary concerns must take personal responsibility by asking questions before eating, making careful choices, and, if necessary, plan or purchase alternate meals at alternate locations at your own expense. So, you will have to be prepared to be diligent, eat with a high level of discernment, and remember and accept that you’re the final line of defense between you and the food provided.
Every traveler must have valid travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, evacuation, and trip cancellation. It's your responsibility to purchse it and provide proof of your coverage prior to departure. Please take note that purchasing this type of policy is often time sensitive, so, your immediate attention to this task is necessary. If you don’t have coverage at least 30 days prior to departure, we reserve the right to remove you from the trip without a refund. More information about travel medical insurance can be found HERE.
We love capturing moments from our adventures. By joining us, you’re giving Operators permission to use your name, likeness, voice, photos, audio, and/or videos that include you, without payment, for storytelling, social media, and/or for commercial, promotional and funding purposes.
While you’re on your adventure, you agree to respect local, domestic, and international laws and rules wherever you travel. If you run into legal trouble, like being questioned, detained, or arrested, Black Realities and Akwantuo aren’t responsible for your actions, release, or any related costs or consequences.
We do our best to plan every detail of your adventure, but sometimes events beyond our control happen like severe weather, natural disasters, strikes, civil unrest, government restrictions, pandemics, or other unexpected events (“Force Majeure”) makes it impossible or unsafe to deliver the trip as planned. If a Force Majeure event affects your trip, causing delays, cancellations, or changes, Operators aren’t required to refund your deposit and/or payments. If we can recover money from our Suppliers, we’ll pass that along to you, but the original deposit will always be retained to cover the time and planning already invested in your trip.
We expect every traveler to act responsibly and treat others, both fellow travelers and local communities, with respect. If your behavior puts yourself or others at risk, or disrupts the trip experience, Operators and our local partners reserve the right to remove you from the trip. If this happens, there will be no refund, and we are not responsible for any extra costs you may incur as a result. By joining this trip, you also agree to protect Operators from any claims, costs, or damages that result from your actions. This includes things like accidents, injuries, or property damage caused by you, or legal claims arising from your violation of this agreement. You understand that you are responsible for your own behavior and any consequences it may have.
We hope there won’t be, but if one arises, we’ll handle it in Ghana, following Ghanaian law. First, we’ll try to work it out through mediation. If that doesn’t settle it, arbitration in Ghana is the final step. There’s no going to court anywhere else.
When you click “Book Now,” pay your deposit, or otherwise reserve your spot, that’s your legal “I agree.” No physical signature needed. Booking, paying, or traveling equals acceptance of this Agreement. Agreement shall be in effect from the moment of booking and into perpetuity, and shall cover all future travel, activities, or events you may participate in which are affiliated in any way with Black Realities dba Black Realities Adventures and its Ghanaian partner Akwantuo Ranger Travel.
Everything important is written here and within this list of frequently asked questions, which is incorporated into this Agreement by reference. No side conversations, emails, text messages or DMs change what’s agreed to in this Agreement.
